Sunshine

Say what you may about Governor Mitch Daniels, but I like him and I like daylight savings time.  It's been during his terms in office that Indiana made the switch from our old ways to the daylight savings time plan.  Now it's light into the evening and for this working Momma, I love being able to have hours after work to play outside with my munchkins.
Without all of those hours of sunlight, I wouldn't have gotten a chance to experience Lincoln Man's crazy face last night during a last minute play session at 8pm.
Nor would I have been able to watch Arabelle continue to attempt to climb all of our trees.  She's a hot mess, but that's what happens when you play outside at 8pm.

So enjoy the sunlight blog friends. Sit outside and soak it up even if it's 8:30 or 9:00 at night!

Bagel Lovin'

Hi there,

I have a confession to make.....I have an overwhelming addiction to bagels.  Simply put, I adore them.  Their roundness, their breadness (I don't think that's a word), their yumminess (made that one up to) and the variety of bagels available.  I guess what I am saying is I could probably eat one every day and still wake up the next morning wondering if there are any bagels available in the world.

A few days ago, we decided to dive into the world of bagel making.  I was concerned that the actual creation of a bagel would be a time consuming task and really difficult.  I was oh so pleasantly surprised when I did a quick search of bagel recipes online.  It's really not that hard. I mean a little time consuming, but that is mainly just the dough part.  There are the typical bread type steps involved such as letting the dough rise and then shaping it and letting it rise again.  In the end, we made some awesome onion and garlic bagels and cinnamon and sugar bagels and a couple of plain bagels.  I just wanted to share some pictures from this great bagel making experience.  If you have ever wanted to make them I say go for it.  You won't regret it!

I love this mixer...we borrowed it...we confiscated it...we are never returning it.

You can't accomplish much without a beautiful assistant. This Arabelle, she's beautiful.

And voila, the finished product.  Yummy!!

And that is that....now get out there and make some bagels!

Seven and counting!

Good morning!

This last weekend big daddy and I celebrated our seventh anniversary.  Yes I called Ryan big daddy.  I have been calling him that off and on for years. I blame the Regis and Kelly show.  Kelly used to call Regis "Big Daddy" and for some reason I adopted that into my vocabulary.  Anyways back on track.

The 15th was our seventh anniversary and my how time flies!  I can't believe we have no been married for the better portion of a decade.  Amazing!  So many things have happened.  We have now bought a condo, remodeled and sold that condo, bought a house which we now live in, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and a handsome baby boy...the list could go on and on.  For our wonderful anniversary Ryan planned the whole weekend.  Every minute was a surprise and every hour was planned.  He even had an agenda typed up on his phone!  What a great guy!

I had a fabulous weekend with my amazing husband.  He is my best friend and I love him more than words can express.  It seems like just yesterday we shared a date and a kiss that changed our lives.  I can't wait to spend the next 7, 14, 21, 28, 35...forever years with him!

Have a fabulous day!

A New Leaf

Hello there everyone,

I have decided to start a new blog.  Why?  Well for a couple of reasons, but mainly because I am a perfectionist sometimes and couldn't stand that my previous one was a little hit and miss and that seriously bothered me.  And due to that, I couldn't go on under those circumstances.  I have no good explanation even if I try it won't be better than that.  I am hoping to be better with this one and actually post here things that are going on and different projects I am working on.  I am turning over a new leaf and will in fact persevere and accomplish keeping up with this blog.

Can't wait to hear from you all!

Lots of Love!
